‘Ranging

So this weekend while it was at home looking for something, I found something in my closet that has been the greatest source of entertainment I’ve found in a very long time.

That’sright folks.  A boomerang.  I got this for one of my birthdays years ago and totally forgot about it.  I have been boomeranging (‘ranging) for a solid two days and so fars it’s been nothing but great times.

I know what some of you might be thinking: How social can ‘ranging be?? Isn’t it supposed to come back to you.  My answer to that is: Yes, that is how its SUPPOSED TO WORK.  But my friends it is not as easy as it seems.  Thus making it a game that you could play with other people.

Boomerang Games to Play with Other People

One person throws the boomerang and the other one trys to catch it.  (This is great while you are still learning the technique behind the sport.)

You can also face eachother from some distance away and try to get the ‘rang to curve just enough to get to  your partner.

Have a competition by seeing who can get the boomerang to come back closer to them.

Practice Practice Practice

Remember that boomeranging is not something that comes right away.  You have to practice and try out different angles and strengths and release points.  I would recommend looking over a “how-to” before going out and throwing.  Colorado Boomerangs has a great “how-to” article as well as cheap but well crafted boomerangs.  (Mine is their Aspen model).  Wikihow also has a detail explaination and a slew of great diagrams.

Boomerang League

I was thinking how great it would be if I could collect a team of expert boomerangers and travel the world to throw boomerangs of of stuff.  It would be like the Boomerang League.  Nice.

If any of you happen to be expert boomerangers.  Lemme know.
