La Mill (Coffee Party)

Alright ya’ll here it is.  I heard of this place months ago, and I finally went yesterday.  For those of you that know me or have read this blog for a while, you might know that I love coffee.  It’s delicious.  And its especially delicious when it is brewed well/in an AWESOME CONTRAPTION.

Exibit A: AWESOME CONTRAPTION

This, my dear friends, is a siphon coffee maker (this one made by Hario).  This is the brewing method (1 of at least 5 offered) that we ordered yesterday at La Mill.  The way it works is: water is put in the bottom bulb and heated.  When the water is approaching boiling the top part, the attached down-tube is put in.  The top holds the coffee grounds and has a screen on the bottom to filter the coffee later.  When the water is hot enough it jumps up the tube and combines with the coffee.  When the coffee has been brewed long enough the bottom bulb cools off the coffee will go back down the tube and can be served from there after the top apparatus is taken off.  Awesome and delicious.  As the La Mill menu tells us the flavor is that of a French press with minimal sediment.  Beautiful.

I think I’m gonna buy one soon.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

My recommendation would be: GO THERE!

It’s an experience, and at $15 per pot (for the siphon option) it’s really not that bad.

P.S Donut holes.  Do it.
